SidlerNotes

Will the Twins trade Santana already? I've bought a lot of Philip Hughes HOPE in advance of a potential trade, but the Twins must not have stocked up like I did. How else can you explain them seemingly liking both Jacoby Ellsbury (could be an impact player, but will be the Red Sox Jeter if he stays in Boston) and John Lester more than Hughes? Ellsbury would fill the big hole in CF and the top of the order, but all indications are that he's off the table at this point, leaving Lester as the centerpiece to any Red Sox trade. I'd take Hughes over Lester in a heartbeat, but I think the Twins might be in a mini-feud with the Yankees right now.

Did you guys see the new MLB rule that teams with payrolls greater than $150mm don't have to worry about tampering? They didn't actually change the rule? I hate the Steinbrenners; Hank is a knob.

Baseball's business model sucks. I can't get enough of the same six teams signing all of the meaningful free agents and can't wait to trade John Lester to the Red Sox in 6 years to get the next John Lester.

My opinion of the Delmon Young trade changed dramatically after reading about Delmon Young's impact on the clubhouse:

Team Chemistry Delmon Young Style

Let me preface this by saying Tom Brady is unquestionably the NFL MVP this year in The Sidler's opinion.

But I'm just saying, people forget 2004 quickly when saying things about how Brady is playing QB at a never-before-seen level… through 12 games…

Does anyone like Stephen A. Smith? No, you can't call him SAS, whoever it is that calls Shamala JAS.

This is a tremendous quote:

I respect the journalism industry, and the fact of the matter is ...someone with no training should not be allowed to have any kind of format whatsoever to disseminate to the masses to the level which they can. They are not trained. Not experts.

Absolutely brilliant, Stephen. You are right, free speech is for little bitches. Outside of your family and the one guy in Davenport, IA who watched your "Quite Frankly" show, the general public wishes you had no format WHATSOEVER to disseminate to the masses.

Amen, Stephen A. Smith is a complete tool. I'm still not sure who's worse between him, Salisbury and Skip Bayless.
