Well the college hoops season starts today, and actually already has because an early start to the Richmond/Maine game coupled with the stupid Mountain time zone has led me to start this blog after the game has already begun. So instead of looking at two games, I'll just take a look at the Memphis vs. Tennessee-Martin game.
Memphis -35.5 vs. Tenn-Martin:
There's not a whole lot of analysis really needed to look at this game. Memphis is ranked #3 right now, and might very well be the best team in the country - I consider them #1. The Tigers breezed through last season going 33-4, including 16-0 in conference, on their way to the final four, and had plenty of practice blowing out bad teams along the way. They not only return all five starters this season, but also add 6-10 transfer from Iowa State Shawn Taggert as well as all-everything top five national recruit Derrick Rose. On the other side, Tenn-Martin lost four starters and almost every key reserve from a team that went 8-23, so clearly they are pretty brutal. The only question is if Memphis will be able to play well enough to blow them out by enough to eliminate the back door cover at the end of the game when their third stringers are in. Memphis 97, Tenn-Martin 47
