First of all, why hasn't anyone told me about the supreme goodness that is Surly Brewing Co. beer? I propose a DWG convention for a brewery tour there.
With that out of the way, let's look at some numbers. I'm still trying to get over the Beltre thing and haven't given up all hope...but I am trying to move on. I dug up some 07-08 stats of other third basemen that might be available, here they are:
Check out the comments to see who the players are (and see my motive), I can't type any more after hearing Stu Scott call St. Louis "Saint Boogie" again.

A - Casey Blake
B - Wilson Betemit
C - Melvin Mora
D - Garrett Atkins road performance
E - Nick Punto
It is bad when the only Nick Punto is below you, but Atkins is a HUGE beneficiary of playing in Denver. I really hope LaVelle is right and Atkins has been deemed untouchable. Maybe that Stewart guy they have in AAA is available--the Rockies did give the Twins Matt Macri for Razor Ramon Ortiz last year.
Surley "Bender" is the shit....
Surley "Furious" is sick dont EVER try it.
WWWW you are so out of the loop.
Get off your computer and live your life for god sakes.
Sidler - Please explain the meaning of the "07-08" time frame for your stats. Did you combine 2007 and 2008 stats? Or are you just a dipshit?
Respectfully,

Dear anonymous:
The answer to both of your questions is yes.
Thanks,
The Sidler
I didn't post this.
Also, I heard Kevin Kouzmanoff is in the running to be the next Twin. Oh joy.
The Kouzer isn't terrible. He's cheap, crushes RHP (.972 ops in 07, .867 this year), is putting up decent stats in an extreme pitcher's park, and is an ideal platoon mate with Buscher.
His career .770 OPS puts him second on that list, for what it's worth.
W - Rumor has it you're in search of an RB. I'll trade you LenDale.
I'd rather die.
