After washing out my own mouth with soup as a result of the previous post, I figured that one needed to move down the line.

Let me some up the Fighting Sioux's season for you by highlighting a few points.

Summary:
1. Open season against Boston University and get killed 1-5.
2. Proceed to get owned by lowly Minnesotat State Mankato and give up a natural hat trick in the process.
3. Lose the series to Duluth.
4. Inexplicably lose to Cornel the night after posting a 7-3 win.
5. Get swept in a holiday invitational.


Next steps:
1. Place season directly into toilet.
2. Flush.

3. Get swept by the Gophers at home.

First of all, could UND be any more blatently racist? You tell me. This weekend's series up in Grand Forks is a scheduled "White out". You don't exactly have to read between the lines, that is if Sioux fans could read for starters. Was it necessary to schedule that? I thought that was a taboo thing up there that didn't need mentioning every weekend but whatever.

I fully expect that both of this weekends games will be close. There will be plenty of passionate play from the Gophers this weekend. Other than the simple fact that the Gophers love to make the Sioux their bitch a few times a year I think there a couple of other story lines.

First off is the mystery illness of coach Don Lucia. He will be sidelined as a result and assistant coach John Hill will run things from the bench. I can't imagine that there are any players on this Gopher team that feel like letting down their coach down while he is out. No one knows if the guy has twenty days or twenty years to live. The fact that he is out says that it must be something fairly major.

This weekends matchup will be extremely chippy right from the first face-off. I expect plenty of physical play and a ton of penalty minutes. Let's face it. This is biggest rivalry in college hockey, period. These two teams have faced off against each other more than any other matchup in the history of college hockey. The Gophers have had a more effective power play and penalty kill than the Sioux have thus far through the season.

Our defensemen sometimes get a bit too offensive minded on the power play as well as 5 on 5 so it will be key that they stay tight on the blue line and not let anyone in behind them. Other than that our defense should be complete shut-down.

Things are looking up on the offensive side of things. We will be getting a few of our goal scorers back this weekend from injury and from the world junior champships. This includes frosh stud Jordan Schroeder who had good numbers in that tournament. I see him picking up his play for the gophers after gaining some extra confidence in his game while abroad.

Gophers sweep. Dave Hakstol puts his middle finger where it belongs, most likely Super Sioux fan's butt. Sioux fans, feel free to shut dirty whorish mouths.

Super Hockey Preview Post

I figured I better get this up, seeing how everyone is getting all spastic. Remember, I didn't write this. Mama Dawger did. I'm just posting it because Snake is too lazy to write his own preview and somehow got her to do it. Completely unedited except for page breaks because that shit was impossible to read.

SIOUX Hockey Preview Bitches

I know that is what you have all been waiting for......a witty, SIOUX hating hockey preview from Snake but that isnt going to happen today. Lucky you. Instead you got SIOUXPER Sioux fan aka Mama Dawger to catch you up on EVERYTHING you wanted to know about this seasons (Sioux) hockey team!

So after a disappointing semi final game last year 2 of the Sioux's stand out players T.J Oshie and Taylor Chorney swore that they would stay one more year and get that national title......well the little pricks decided to take the paycheck instead and move on and make their NHL debut. We lost Jean-Phillipe Lameroux aka (worst goalie of all time, other then that tool Jordan Parise) to graduation this year along with the worlds best handicapped defense men Robbie Bina (aka Dawgs favorite player).

So this year we are looking at a couple of veterans to lead us to that Championship this year. We have returning of course Ryan 'that guy who won the Hoby a couple years ago but then sucked after' Duncan, and Joe Finley the 'cake eating' kid from Eden Prairie who my Grandma is in love with. She is always telling him to stop fighting..haha...Gma..haha

We also have some new guys on the team this year. Mario Lameroux, David Toews. Sound Familiar? That is because they are all the little bro's of Phil and Jonathan former Sioux stand outs.

We also have a new goaltender by the name of Brad Eidsness who has been drafted by the Buffalo Sabres. People are worried about him and we have suffered in the rankings because of it but hey that is what people thought about CC last season.
Our trend seems to be start out slow and then rock it the last half of the season. Hopefully we can get off to a good start beginning with the BU and UMass games this weekend. We are looking forward to playing against BU's frosh goalie as well.

They play British Columbia in an exhibition game tonight then have tomorrow off. You will do decent throughout the year of course losing to UND at the Holy Grail of Arena's The Ralph. Which you will all make excuses for and call us goon's (sound familiar Dawg). Then you will get to the point of the season where it actually matters and you will suck it and you will suck it bad. yeah I would say that is pretty accurate.

I would anticipate Gophers will take British Columbia and the SIOUX may spilt. I still hold firm that UMD will beat Superior regardless of what Snake says.
Speaking of Snake he lucked out this year because the gayer then Blake Wheeler NCAA said we are no longer allowed to have a college fantasy hockey league. It is free for god sakes let us have some fun. Snake basically came in dead last....not that I did much better but I still beat him and I am a chic so that means he sucks and I am awesome.

Poor Dawg is going to have to drag his hockey hating, Oshie loving ass to Joe Sensors with me, Snake, Baby SiouxFan Dawger, and On the verge Sioux Fan lil Snake this season to watch the team that God made with his own hands and handed down to the beautiful state of North Dakota...hey.

Gophers Look To Crush The Seawolves

Well the gophers Hockey Team finally won a game in conference play last weekend. That was so much fun that they actually won two games and swept Mankato State. To make the games even more fun the Gophers actually scored more then one goal in a game and broke an 0 for 30 power play drought. This weekend the gophers should be able to add to their cure little winning streak as lowly Alaska Anchorage comes to town. Both games will be played at Mariucci Arena.

Basically all you need to know about AA is that they suck. They have always sucked and will always suck. Each year they win a couple games up in Alaska to start the season and everyone thinks "Hey look at Alaska, they are going to be better this year". Then reality sets in, Alaska loses 10 or 12 games in a row, players quit trying and opposing fans have to suffer through watching their teams beat up on a bunch of Canadian/ Alaskan quitters. The one thing Gopher fans have going for them is Alaska has just started said free fall, so their players haven’t quit, yet. This means we might see a couple descent games this weekend....or a couple teams that are at least trying to look descent. Either way we should at least see some effort put forth by both teams.

Alaska has basically two forwards, one defender and an average goalie that deserve mention. The rest of the roster is about as interesting and useful as a NBDL blog by WWWWWW. The two forwards worth noting are Josh Lunden and Kevin Clark (easy Maddog, not that K. Clark). Josh Lunden is actually a very good player and teams have to worry about shutting him down. Kevin Clark is an above average player that benefits immensely from the work Lunden does. Luke Beaverson is AA’s top defender. Beaverson is actually a very good attacking defender who can move the puck. His problem is the people he moves the puck to usually can’t move it themselves so his numbers end up suffering. Beaverson will not make anyone forget about Mike Crowley anytime soon, but he is an above average defender in the WCHA. Like I stated earlier, the rest of the roster is made up with guys who would skate on most WCHA teams 4th lines. WWWWWW that means they aren’t very good.

Some blog related news. It looks like coach Lucia is also reading DWG because he actually had Black Wheeler and Okposo skating on the same line together last weekend. Now if Lucia can just step a little further out of that box he will also put Barriball on that line. I might be able to stay awake for an entire game if he puts all three players together. Okposo also finally scored a couple goals last weekend so maybe he will start playing like a potential 1st round draft pick!

Jeff Frazee still looks as solid in goal as J-j-j-joe O’Brien playing in boots at Able park. I have decided Frazee has a case of the Favre’s, he plays better when he is drunk, stoned and slightly over weight. Here is hoping for more Kangas or more Long Islands and pain killers for Frazee.

The Prediction. The Gophers still kind of suck, but AA truly does suck. This should mean a Gophers sweep, but don’t be shocked if AA steals a point in the series. My prediction Gophers win 4-2 Friday night and 3-2 Saturday night for a sweep.

WWWWWW, both games are on FSNN this weekend so you can follow all the action while you are drinking and smoking your life away in Chicago this weekend!

For those keeping track. The greatest team since the 76 Russians lost again this weekend (they actually got shutout in their loss) and now sit one game ahead of the least talented Gopher team since 1999. Looks like Oshie and that other cute little forward should have rode J.Toews coattails to the NHL this season. Both of them are costing themselves thousands of $$$ and are scoring at the same rate as The Todd scores with the ladies. Ryan Duncan should really send that Hoby Baker trophy to its rightful owner, J. Toews. Yes, the Sioux still suck and still hold the title as most overrated team in the history of college hockey.
