I actually feel a little bad for Chief, it isn't his fault the Mariner's front office thought it was a good idea to put a ground ball pitcher in front of one of the worst defenses in the league.
Liriano has cruised through 7, giving up only 2 unearned runs, even though he's still struggling with his control. Since he's at/near 100 pitches, I assume he's done for the night.
My favorite Mariners-related news from the night has to be Jarrod Washburn's reaction to the Seattle front office declining the Washburn-for-Bonser swap, according to a Seattle Times report:
If that was the case, how much more do you think you're going to get? A young guy with a great arm who's cheap.
Heh, good thing Washburn's not running the team or else the Twins would have a new, way-too-expensive, crappy starter.
Unrelated to the Twins...Michael Phelps is ridiculous.
You're welcome, Dawger!
